The League 2007
Game 8 — 19 June 2007
Rebels defeat Hotheads, 21 – 8
A brief video of some of the action in Game 8 between the Rebels and the Hotheads. The game was preceded by a brief, extreme wind and rain storm that resulted in the usual pool that usually gathers near second base on Diamond 6. The League grounds crew arrived early with tools to drain the flood, which can be seen in the opening part of the video. Many Leaguers stayed home because of the weather. As a result, the game was played in two discrete parts. The Hothead manager did fairly well with a walk-on team in the first half and even better with a group out for a practice with their Miken bat in the second. Unfortunately, the Rebels did even better with solid defence and inspired offence and moved into a tie for first place in the Eastern Division with the Modators.

A Hothead recruit takes a mighty swing at a pitch in the first half of the League FEMA Bowl. The Rebel infield is set to pounce on the ball. The Rebel bench looks out over the drained infield, saying to themselves, "Heckuva a job, grounds crew!". - Photo credit: Joe Briggs |
